Efflorescence Spring/Summer 2013
Efflorescence Spring/Summer 2013 emphasizes
a feminine aesthetic. The collection
explores the relationship between beauty and the female form. As well as influenced by a flower beginning to bloom.
Hand manipulated rouching and flounces have been used to imitate the delicate details of the petals of a flower as it begins to unfold. Petals and layers have been dipped died in tea or berries
to create more dimension for the textual layering.
A strong focus on the natural curves of the female
body has shaped the designs. Experimenting with
the hourglass silhouette.
A focus is on eveningwear, which has directed the
fabric choices of luxurious silks, lace and leather.
Nude colourways have been chosen to reflect the relationship between clothing and the body. The
techniques used, create a contemporary feminine collection that is a statement and reflection of female beauty.
